Options

 
   The Options window provides for  the user to configure Genota according to their preferences.
 
It is broken into three (3) primary areas: DATA FOLDERS, NOTE EDITOR and MISCELLANEOUS, the details of each being given below.

Changes to the configuration are managed by click selecting the check boxes alongside the required parameter. If checked the parameter is set, if blank it means that the option is inactive.
 
All operations on this screen affect Genota globally

Data Location

Displays the current, or selected data location

Documents Folder

Displays the current, or selected data location used for storing linked documents

Default Notebook Font

Select form the drop down list the default font to be used when creating notes. The  default is Arial

Default Font Size

Enter a value representing the default size font to be used when creating notes. The default is 10

Ensure Space after Commas

Check to ensure that a space appears following commas where they appear in the Location

Remove Space after Comma

Remove any spaces following commas that may exist in location records

Remove Double Commas

Replace any instances of double commas with a single comma in location records

Show Dialog On Exit

Check to display the confirmation dialog when exiting Genota

Backup On Exit

Check to force Genota to perform and automatic backup when closing

Show Hints

Check to display pop-up hints. Uncheck to prevent hints from displaying

Data Location Selector

Opens the BROWSE FOR FOLDER dialog allowing the  user to navigate to, and select a folder into which the data files will be stored. An option MAKE NEW FOLDER is provided to enable the creation of a new folder if required.

Use Defaults

Loads all paths to the default locations. This is c:\Users\Public\Documents\Genota\

Document Folder Selector

Opens the BROWSE FOR FOLDER dialog allowing for navigation to, and select a folder into which linked document  files will be stored. An option MAKE NEW FOLDER is provided to enable the creation of a new folder if required.

Display in All Upper Case

Display all location records in upper case

Display in Title Case

Display all location records in title case, i.e. the first letter of each word capitalised with the remainder in lower case.

Display as Entered

Display all location records as they are entered, i.e. the case is not altered

Maximise Screen on Startup

Check to maximise the screen at start-up

Use Internal Web Browser checkbox

Check to use the default external web browser instead of the internal Genota Web Browser

Save button

Saves all changes to file
