Genota provides full support for the archiving (back-up) and restoration of all information stored in the database tables. Both the Backup and Restore function treats all Notebooks, the Address Book, Categories and Configuration tables as a single entity, ie. all data tables are affected.  

 

Backup (Archiving) Data Files

Select  FILES | BACKUP DATA FILES from the Main Menu to open the Save As dialog.

Navigate to the folder into which the file archive is to be stored then enter a name for the archive in the File name box; in this instance 'GEnota20050804'.

Click select SAVE to create the backup file.

 

When the process is complete a dialog will display advising accordingly.

 

The archive file created is a standard zip format file.

Restoring Data Files

       This action replaces all existing data with that contained in the archive file

Select FILE | RESTORE ALL FILES from the Main Menu. A confirmation dialog will display as displayed below.

 


 

Either click select YES to display the OPEN dialog or NO to cancel the operation

Navigate to find the archive file that is to be restored. When found, click select on the file name so that it is displayed in the File name box, then click select  OPEN.

When the process is complete a dialog will display advising accordingly.
